We made it to Friday!
I am so excited because even though Friday is like any other day for me (being a stay-at-home-mom is like Groundhog’s Day) that means that tomorrow is our first date minus Quinn! We are going to Ciao for dinner and drinks. It will be my first time eating there and I’ve heard so many good things about it.
Grandma Tyburski and I took Quinn to the Toledo Museum of Art today and I will recap that tomorrow for you! The past two days I have just been really focused on eating healthy and getting my workouts in. I also snuck in a little bit of sun time (and a hazelnut latte) and got my first tan line of the season. Sad it’s so late.
I didn’t get pictures of a lot of my food but mainly it was Shakeology for breakfast, a salad and yogurt for lunch, veggies/protein/grain for dinner.
This black bean hummus is super easy to make and I am sure you could make a big batch and freeze it in baggies. It will become a staple in our house since we go through hummus like it’s water and that “bleep” gets expensive.
Black Bean Hummus
- 1 can black beans, liquid reserved
- 1 1/2 T tahini
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 T lemon
- 1/8 t cayenne
- 1/4 t paprika
- 1/2 t cumin
- 1/2 t salt
Add everything to the food processor, along with 2 T liquid from beans, and blend until creamy, adding more juice from the beans if necessary. Add more seasoning to taste.
My workouts were fantastic this week. I pushed myself hard and didn’t skip any! That’s quite a feat when you have a newborn. If I can do it, you can do it! This is what my Thursday looked like:
The fact that I stayed on track ALL week is hugely due to the Beach Bum Battle groupies. When I see their posts about working hard and sweating bullets, it makes me feel like I am letting them down if I skip. NO EXCUSES! I am definitely seeing progress!
Well I need to get ready for bed! I am soooo tired.
