We finally have a little snow here in Ohio! I honestly don’t want to see it unless it’s Christmas Day or I can go snowboarding, but I have no control over it. For about five days now I have meant to post this fitness gift guide for moms, but time just slips away from me! A list of fitness finds from accessories, fashion and food for health conscious moms who are busy and on-the-go. It’s now Monday…so let’s get to it!
It’s not too late!
This list doesn’t just have to be for Christmas. Birthdays or Mother’s Day are great days for giving a Fit Mom some sweet ass gifts (put it on your list now!) Whether you are a rookie or a pro, these gifts ROCK! I’m dreaming of a MILF Fitmas…
For The Accessory Fanatic
::1 Foam or Rumble Roller:: Foam and rumble rollers are God’s gift. They are designed to make stretching a muscle more intense. They really work to break down muscle fibers and literally roll them out like a rolling pin on dough. Having loose muscles can make your workouts more effective and lead to faster recovery time. Not to mention, it feels so freaking amazing!
::2 Kettlebells:: These bad
boys ladies are all the craze due to their portability and wide range of muscle groups they can target at once. I am loving the adjustable Kettle Bell by Reebok to save on space. It changes from 5 to 25 lbs with just the push of a button. The Hers Kettle Bell Kit is cute and girly. There are a ton of kettle bell workouts on Pinterest that you could try at home.
::3:: Heart Rate Monitor:: I’m seeing the FitPolar HRM everywhere and I think the average mom would like the cute and comfy FT4 because it is just enough for tracking fitness goals and heart rate, but still keeps things simple. If you are looking for something even more basic, the Fitbit Force and Fitbit Zip are excellent choices for calorie conscious moms. Not only are they designed to look like a watch, but both are waterproof, wireless and sync right to your smart phone. Spending the extra cash on the Fitbit Force will allow you to track your sleep since all moms know that sleep is essential since we get so little of it!
::4 Bands:: Resistance bands are a MUST for getting a lean and toned body! I keep two bands in Quinn’s diaper bag so that I can get a quick workout in even if I am not at home. They are so portable that I pack them on vacations! I love that you have the ability to add more or less resistance by stepping wider or adjusting your grip. They are also extremely affordable for a budget savvy mom.
::5 Interval Timer:: It is such a pain to use a clock or an iphone timer to keep track of intervals during workouts. This interval timer by Gymboss works as a repeating timer, interval timer or stopwatch. I love the price, size and functionality!
For The Fitness Fashionista
::1 Sassy Tanks and Tops:: It’s no secret that having cute workout clothes means you will want to workout more! I am totally vibin’ the new Blogilates Twist N Shout Crop Sweater and “Excuse me, I burpee’d” tank. She always has the CUTEST clothes so watch for her sales. Old Navy also has a really great selection of hoodies and tanks. Use coupon code ONSAVENOW for 20% off!
::2 A Fun Pair of Leggings:: I’m swooning over the trend of funky patterned leggings! How fun are these Nike ‘Epic Run’ Print crop leggings? Rob says I would look like a Mermaid in these and they are a splurge with the price. A more affordable version are these Pink Lotus Rose Leggings.
::3 Momma’s Got a Brand New Bag:: Step aside, diaper bag. This gym bag from Activyst has room for a laptop, shoes, a yoga mat, and a water bottle, and is made of durable, water-resistant material from Nicaragua. It’s bold, stylish and practical… and the best part? Each bag helps a girl play sports. I love products and companies that give back!
::4 Moisture Wicking Underwear:: Any woman who works out knows how uncomfortable it is to be sweaty down below. Moisture Wicking Underwear by Under Armour are lightweight and designed to keep you cool and dry during your workout. I would love these for my entire day rather than just a workout; I bet they feel amazing!
For The Foodie
::1 An Herb Garden:: Spice up meals and create a pretty kitchen space. Fresh herbs are so much healthier than packaged seasonings and this kit from Burpee comes with everything needed to get started. I think it makes your space feel so cozy! You could even find a cool way to display them like this design made from pallet boards and mason jars.
::2 Portion Control Plates:: It can be difficult to control your portions at every meal and to keep it confidential. Slimware offers plates with a design that disguises your portions so no one will notice. I love that they are functional and so stylish!
::3 Sporty Water Bottle:: Drinking water is always a feat for a mom on the go. That won’t be a problem anymore with an Aquazinger. The bottom of the bottle holds fruit which infuses the water with flavors. The bottle is pretty cute, too! I also really love this water bottle with a storage compartment or the S’well water bottle that keeps drinks cold for 24 hours and hot for 12.
::4 Monthly Oil or Snack Membership:: Healthy fats and oils are essential for a balanced diet and healthy skin. What lady wouldn’t love an oil gift set?! The Olive Press has beautiful sets of infused oils and vinegars that are reasonably priced. I mean…my mouth is watering just looking at this. They also have a club membership. Naturebox is a great way to choose a healthy snack for moms who are busy and always on the go. Every month, five full size, healthy snacks are delivered. See how it works here! Right now you get $10 off your first box.
::5 Monthly Tea Club Membership:: Some tea stores like Adagio, Teatulia and Teavanna are offering a membership that sends fresh loose leaf teas to your doorstep every month. I love the benefits of herbal teas and it’s always fun to try new flavors! Of course you could just pick one blend in a tin; my favorite blend at Teavanna is the Samurai Chai mate which tastes like Big Red gum!
There you have it! I have so many of these items on my list and I can’t wait to see what Santa brings me!
What are you wishing for?
Have you been naughty or nice?
Have a great Monday! I will be back tomorrow!
