Sadly, my vacation started to come to an end. We had about two days left and it was starting to sink in. We were a bit tired and ready to just have a day of relaxing and drinks!
Welcome to Cozumel!
We got off the boat around 9 am and starting touring the city. It was a LOT of shopping and it was HOT! Most of the stores were typical junky souvenir shops and workers hounding you to step inside.
We found a few stores that were actually pretty neat! One store had clothing, blankets, sheets, etc all made out of Bamboo and it was so soft! This one was all carvings and I only snapped one picture before I was asked to stop.
We finally decided to grab a coffee just to quench my thirst addiction. It’s so weird to see your receipt in pesos. My receipt said $65.00 for total and I about freaked!
After coffee, we wandered a bit longer and decided we might as well stop at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville. The fun ensued from there…
As you can see, we were a little tipsy. We each had 10 beers and 5 shots of tequila. I couldn’t get off our bed for about 2 hours. Oof!
The last day of our trip was spent at sea and we pretty much soaked in the sun from 8 am until 3 pm. There was a pool side party with a women’s Miss Bicep competition and you KNOW I had to enter!
There were 10 of us and I won Miss Muscles 2014. The judges had to feel my biceps and I did pushups and tricep hover in the shallow end of the pool. Three other girls won “Miss Chicken Wings,” “Miss Bodyguard,” and “Miss Biceps.” It was fun and I won a sash to wear. (No pics because Rob was sleeping.)
We also were entertained by Marty who loved to be silly the entire week!
The rest of the evening was really mellow for us as we were winding down. We had to pack for disembarkation the next morning and wanted to get a good night of rest before we headed back home. We had a nice dinner together and found some lawn chairs port side to relax in. I listened to a few Dollars and Roses podcasts and Rob smoked a cigar.
We went to the final theater show which highlighted some of the staff on board and then got cozy in bed.
The day of departure, we grabbed one more delish breakfast from the Garden Cafe (omelette, fresh fruit, waffle, coffee) and got off the boat. How quickly the week went by! We were itching to catch our flight and get home to our sweet baby girl. Puzzle books and podcasts helped pass the time.
We finally arrived at home around 8:30 pm and when Quinn saw me, she wanted nothing to do with me. She turned away and reached toward her grandma! We all laughed and once she started playing, we realized all the new stuff she learned during the week. I will share with you her new skillz tomorrow since she will be 10 months old!
So there you have it! My vacation was awesome and I love cruising with Norwegian. The ship is always clean, the entertainment is great and the food is perfect for any dining style you prefer. I can’t wait to decide on our next vacation, but I am FINALLY glad to be back home and into my normal routine.
