Mamalete Monday

What an exciting weekend!

I loved the holiday and everything that accompanied it; grilling, bonfires, sparklers, sunshine, adult drinks and of course, fireworks!  How was your weekend?

Well, now we are back to Monday and I feel like I have been talking to so many moms about balancing their life with healthy living.  It’s not easy to do and sometimes, just having a fellow mom shoulder to lean on is what gets you through the day.  I firmly believe that being healthy and fit has made me a better mom which is why I want to help other women do the same.

dare to be amazing

I think this is why my current PiYo focus group is doing so well; most of us are moms and we really connect!  We are Mamaletes.

What is a Mamalete?

“A mother.  An athlete. Inspiring her family through the goals she sets and achieves.

We look to our children for strength as they look to us for guidance. That bond is core to the Mamalete movement: to live healthy and be fit both for them, and with them. Together, we can inspire others to do the same for the present and the future.” -taken from mamalete.com

I LOVE THIS!  Gia hit the nail on the head when she coined the term and started the movement.

I really enjoy inspiring other moms to set goals and focus on themselves so that they can be better for their family.  A tired, negative, unhealthy mom certainly isn’t benefiting those around her who rely on her for so much.  Moms, you know what I mean…our spouse, children, pets, boss, extended family, EVERYONE looks to us.

So I just want to give a quick shout out to all of the beautiful moms out there who are setting such a great example.  We are a force to be reckoned with!   I am so proud to be part of such a fantastic and strong group of women.
