It’s exhausting having a sick baby. Every parent knows that a bug just needs to work it’s way through baby’s system, but being sleep deprived on top of wiping snot and getting screamed at can wear you down like the week you first brought that gem baby home.
The other night I was putting Quinn to bed and noticed she was swallowing a lot. I figured something was going to happen since her molars are coming in and they always bring a runny nose. That night she woke up twice but went back to sleep easily. The next day, she was much worse.
Her nose was so plugged that the poor girl didn’t nap all day and although I had her propped up in bed with me overnight, neither of us got much sleep.
But we survived.
Nothing entirely cured her cold in the moment, but a few things helped to take the edge off and give her enough rest to get through the night and the next day. Rob and I probably would have plotted suicide otherwise.
