Organizing Your Blog for A New Year

update your blog for the new year. Printables, making a media kit and more.

It’s the final countdown!

2015 is so close I can smell it.  Oh wait.  That’s just my coffee.

But either way, it’s so fun to get organized and excited about a new year.  I posted about fitness resolutions the other day, but I am also focusing on how I can clean up my blog and get ready for a kick ass 2015 with all of you!

If you are a blogger, I suggest you follow suit. (Or pajamas, because that is what I am rocking at the moment.)

Update your media kit OR make a media kit.

Not sure what a media kit is?  Read here.  I originally created my media kit in Microsoft Word, but I am revamping it in Canva.  If you haven’t tried Canva yet, you are soooo missing out.  Here is a snapshot of what my media kit looks like as of now.  I will update you with the finished product when it’s done!

Get a planner.

I’m using the EPIC BLOG: One-Year Editorial Planner from Regina.  I got it as a Christmas gift from a friend and I can’t wait to dive in!  If you aren’t already following, shame on you.  Do that now.

Print a new stats sheet + password sheets and update them.

I use these sheets from Just A Girl And Her Blog.  It’s crucial to keep these updated so you can be organized for paid opportunities!  They are free to download.

Start a new receipts/tracking folder.

Set some blog/brand/biz goals for the year (or each month.)

And one BIG area that I need to tackle this week is editing my old photo’s alternative text!  Did you know that what you type in that little box will automatically add a custom description when your posts are pinned?  That’s a big deal.

As always, there are a million more things that you could be doing to clean up your blog and create a better experience for your readers, but this is a good start.  It’s so fun to start fresh and clean, no?!

Happy NEW YEAR!  All the best in ’15!

What are you going to do THIS WEEK to clean up your blog?

Do you have a favorite printable you would like to share?

What is one blog/brand/biz goal you have?
