Macro Hack: High Protein S’mores

Y’all know I love to take unhealthy foods and make them macro friendly, so why not just start a section on my blog here where I can just keep the macro hack recipes?!

If you aren’t sure what macros are or what IIFYM is…

I basically track my macronutrients (protein, carbs, fats) to hit calorie goals for the day.  So while I am trying to hit those numbers, I like to stretch my macros to get more bang for my buck!

I like to follow the 80/20 rule and keep most of my food nutrient dense but allow myself 20% of fun foods or even get creative with my clean foods when I’m fixin’ for some chocolate or other cravings.

Ouch… that is not that much volume for such high numbers!  I would definitely still be hungry after those.

So here is where I get creative and try to find a swap (macro hack) of something with more volume, comparable fat and higher protein because it will keep me full longer.

Protein S’mores

Serves 6
Prep time 5 minutes
Cook time 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • 16gg sugar free fat free cheesecake instant mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 60g Lil Buff Protein Mix - Cocoa Crave
  • 15g semi sweet mini chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 6 sheets Annie's Graham crackers

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl combine the pudding mix and water. Mix until thick.
Add the Lil Buff Protein mix to the pudding and stir well. Add in chocolate chips and stir. Place on a foil lined cookie sheet in 6 cookie drops and lightly smush down so they aren't too fluffy. Bake at 350 for 14-15 minutes.
When the cookies are done, layer a cookie and some mini marshmallows onto a cracker half and then top with the other half. Let melt and gobble them up!

As you can see, I can eat TWO of these S’mores for the same calories as just one regular version!  And they can’t even compete with a Starbs S’mores drink.

I didn’t toast the marshmallows but these would be amazing if you did!  Just make your cookies ahead of time and store in the fridge.  When you toast your marshmallows over your fire this summer, add a cookie and the graham cracker.  Sweet tooth fix and you could eat 2 with zero guilt.
